The writers would start something new but not follow through with it, and this holds true for many subplots. Characters we have grown to love were suddenly acting out of character, adding to the confusion. The worst of it was that this season was about everyone else but Emily. It simply did not make sense. One thing these writers know how to do is ruin a character and ruin the storyline. First of all, Mindy is NOT that girl. For 4 seasons straight, Mindy had Emily’s back, she was her first friend, and she was ride or die for Emily. For the producers and writers to just throw all of that away and have Mindy sleep with Emily’s ex is ridiculous. Introducing new and absolutely bland and boring characters like that Italian princess or that American dude is stupid. Having Emily and Marcello build one of the healthiest relationships she has ever had and then breaking it off at the end. Just so many pointless and unnecessary things occurring and completely diluting this show. I truly used to enjoy this show. Emily in Paris ended for me after Season 4.
