What to Know

Critics Consensus

Genuinely original science-fiction fare from television veteran Vince Gilligan, Pluribus leads Rhea Seehorn through a brave new world with plentiful returns.

Audience Says

Sometimes falling short of its high-concept promise, Pluribus is a supremely original entry from Vince Gilligan whose trademark cinematography remains employed as part of the ensemble.

Hamidreza V. @hamid007 1h new idea See more Ghezal A @ghezal 3h Apple TV is back at it again with one of the best modern TV dramas made for adults that actually have the ability to watch something without needing to look down on their phone. From the second the series begins, you are hooked into yet another world brilliantly devised by Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul's Vince Gilligan. Rhea Seehorn is simply perfection, no notes. Karolina Wydra's minute facial expressions are Emmy-worthy. If you’re thinking about starting a new show that encourages you to use any kind of brain power, watch Pluribus. See more Vincent B. @PopCorn27 5h The most intelligent show that has popped up on any platform in years. A true sci-fi show that even non-sci-fi fans can get behind. Nail biting, amazing cast selection, and a storyline that is by far the most original I have seen in years. See more 21 - Priyan B 8h Extremely mid. if it's not for Vince gilligan it would've been dumped as trash. Rating: 5/10 See more Faizan U @RottenMovieFan 12h Its insanely interesting idea and you want to see things happening and dig deep in hive mind and build story around survivors, but nothing happens. They tried to stretch it as humanely possible without giving the show any direction. I didn't expect this from Gilligan. Final episode is just so crap that you predict everything in first five minutes and everything happens exactly like that. See more Lorvin T. @Joeltoledo93 15h Pluribus feels like Vince Gilligan at his most playful and unsettling. The premise is immediately memorable: a mysterious space signal triggers the Joining, turning most of humanity into the calm smiling hive mind known as the Others, while Albuquerque romance novelist Carol Sturka is one of the rare people who remains immune. That contrast between mass serenity and individual resistance gives the show its strange emotional pull. Rhea Seehorn is phenomenal as Carol bringing humor sharp intelligence and quiet pain to a character who could easily feel abstract. Karolina Wydra is equally captivating as Zosia making her both eerie and oddly warm, and the dynamic between them becomes the soul of the series. Manousos adds another layer of tension grounding the story in very human choices and consequences. Visually the show is pure Gilligan. The color palette is bold and intentional with scenes loaded with visual references and meaning. Ordinary moments are staged with care and suspense making the world feel stylized but never hollow. Pluribus is specific confident and deeply engaging a show that knows exactly what it wants to say and has fun saying it. See more Read all reviews
