It's pretty smart and sophisticated. It devolves, as so many horror movies do... [But] it is kind of a fun. A good idea that maybe needed stronger execution. Go to Full Review

Instead of using found footage as an excuse for a lack of financial and technical resources, Gandersman and Hall take pains to justify the existence of such shots, which are often inexplicable in the subgenre, while developing a decidedly unsettling plot. Go to Full Review

Codirectors and cowriters Paul Gandersman and Peter S. Hall’s feature debut is a solid movie even if their film omitted some connective tissue and felt as if it rushed to the resolution. Go to Full Review

Travis M @tmmcla 19h Edit: It gets better as it goes along. I was too harsh on the acting. This could have been a good little film & i applaud the effort but i just can't recommend it. I really wanted to like it too. The ***ders and everything in the last 30 minutes completely took me out of it. They were not necessary. This would have worked better as being something "unexplained". The trailer might have been boring but the movie would have been better. Initial review: I'm 12 minutes in and already taken out of it. None of it feels natural. It feels like a student film. And I cant say it's entirely the actors fault. Could be anything from timing restraints to poor direction. Idk. But it just falls flat and doesn't feel authentic. And then after the initial scene where the brother calls the sister we go right into the "tape" and the style is just straight up stolen from the style of the tapes in Sinister. See more nilufer e @Nilicim 4d It fell flat for me; the tropes felt forced rather than frightening. Combined with subpar acting, it ultimately missed the mark. See more Sydney L. @starsofsyd 4d A little corny and strung out. See more revolver.0 8 @Revolver08 Dec 16 good on camera effects, but second part is too cheesy See more Vincent S. @Vin_E_At_The_Movies Dec 15 Starts off great but fizzles by the end and it actually bored me in the end. There are some good ideas here but they are beaten into the ground so I lost interest. See more Antonio T. @voltinaction Dec 14 Misleading, confusing narrative, with college level qualifications. Also boring. See more Read all reviews
