St. Patrick Day Crafts – Drink Decoration
Here’s a great St. Patrick Day crafts ideas on how to make a clover straw decoration from green construction paper. It would be nice addition to any drink served on St. Patrick’s Day. In case that your next question is: “When is St. Patrick’s Day?”, the answer is: “It is always on March 17th”. It is an Irish holiday mostly celebrated in the USA and some parts of Ireland. The symbol for this holiday is the color green, leprechauns, pot of gold, and of course “shamrock” or three-leafed clovers native to Ireland. The Irish have considered shamrocks as good-luck symbols, as well as some other nationalities.
Where we are going to explain how to make shamrock decoration, and for that you need only:
- Piece of green construction paper
- Shamrock template
- Scissors
- Stapler
- Black marker (optional)
- Drinking straw
First you have to sketch clover shape, or print out some image from the internet.
Cut it out of any paper to make a template.
Take one piece of green construction paper an fold it in a half.
Trace the template to a folded green construction paper.
Cut out the shape with scissors. You get two identical cloves.
Now is a good time to outline edges with the marker if you wish.
Now, put them together around one drinking straw and set them neatly.
When you align them, staple on both sides. Instead of stapling, it is possible to glue them. Just put one drop of the glue on each side of clover and join both clovers around the drinking straw.
Depending on the choice you made to outline edges or not, decorative drinking straw will look like this:
