Peel and grate apples, squeeze the liquid, add sugar, stir and let to dissolve.

Grease the square pan (12X8 in) with butter. Put three sheets of phyllo dough folded in half; arrange some of the grated apples over that, sprinkle bread crumbs, cinnamon and walnuts (if you want to put walnuts). Put another three phyllo dough sheets and repeat until everything is used. Finish with the phyllo dough. Sprinkle with some vegetable oil and cut into squares 2X2 in. Bake at 375 F for approximately half hour (until golden brown).

In the meantime, dissolve sugar in the squeezed apple juice, add extra apple juice. When the pie is baked, pour juice over it, cover with the foil and let the pie stand until it is cooled down.
