While the holiday season represents the most magical time of year, ancient European folklore warns of Krampus, a horned beast who punishes naughty children at Christmastime. When dysfunctional family squabbling causes young Max (Emjay Anthony) to lose his festive spirit, it unleashes the wrath of the fearsome demon. As Krampus lays siege to the Engel home, mom (Toni Collette), pop (Adam Scott), sister (Stefania LaVie Owen) and brother must band together to save one another from a monstrous fate.

While this is not the most impressive movie I’ve seen, it’s damn solid and very full of Christmas feels. It’s got lots of fun characters, and enough creepy imagery and tension to keep you on your toes while sippin’ on some nog.

If you are coming into this movie with a serious attitude you will miss out on the demented Christmas fun! Was this the best horror movie I have seen… NO… however what it is is a fun filled trip down Krampus Lane! The cast was delightful and the haunted toys and props were a terrorific surprise! One of my favorite scenes in this movie is when a group of demonic gingerbread men are shooting a nail gun at one of the family members! I also feel that I need to mention the Jack in the box… it was genuinely creepy, the teddy bear was amazing twisted and as always the hellish possessed doll came in clutch! My biggest complaint about this movie is the ending! I get what they were trying to do however I feel like they just muddied the plot and was genuinely confused! I give this movie a 8 for Christmas fun and a 6 for the horror scenes! It was definitely creepy and a bit suspenseful. It would scare a kid, but the movie is predictable and honestly tacky. The ending is also deeply unsatisfying and feels very low effort. This is a movie to throw away and forget even exists.
