How to Clean Garbage Disposal
The garbage disposal could be to blame for the bad smell in the kitchen. Only a thought of what is going through those blades makes me sick in my stomach. I am sure we can easily agree about theĀ importanceĀ of cleaning the garbage disposal regularly, not just because of unpleasant smell, but also due to health reasons. So here is a trick how to clean garbage disposal.
To clean garbage disposal first slice lemon into small wedges, put in the garbage disposal, turn it on for a few seconds, and leave to stay for 10 minutes. Acid from lemon will loosen up grease from blades.
After ten minutes throw into garbage disposal lots of ice cubes, open faucet to let small streak of water go in, and turn garbage disposal on until all ice is grinded. Flying icicles are good way to scrape loosened grease particles from blades.
Next step is to close sink, pour hot water (as hot as possible) into sink. Add 1 cup of backing soda, let it dissolve, turn garbage disposal on and open sink. After all water is gone turn switch off. It should take care of odor.
