Finally alone for the holidays, Luther (Tim Allen) and Nora Krank (Jamie Lee Curtis) plan to eschew the Christmas traditions and take a cruise in the Caribbean instead. This doesn't sit well with their Christmas-obsessed neighbors Vic Frohmeyer (Dan Aykroyd) and Walt Scheel (M. Emmet Walsh), who are determined to win the annual "best decorated street" competition, and the Kranks soon find themselves social outcasts because of their lack of Christmas spirit.

We loved him as Santa. We loved her as the hooker with a heart. We love Christmas. ... After seeing Christmas with the Kranks, all I can say is it put me in one kranky mood for the holidays over such a waste of talent!

There's a serious divide between the tomatometer and the real life reaction watching this movie. Christmas With the Kranks may not be Oscar worthy, but Tim Allen still had his moments. Not Home Improvement level energy, much more low key. The movie is frustrating to watch - can someone explain what weird cultish neighborhood they live in where everybody on your street is under a mob boss, played by Dan Akroyd? There needed to be more background on WTF strange societal Truman Show experiment this bizarre and strange backdrop. Where a whole zipcode comes together...for a pretty girl coming home sooner than expected? It's odd and there's 0 context provided for what you're watching. But, the humor, heart warming moments of redemption, make it worth the watch. So yeah ain't amazing, but, it's better than 5%.

Christmas with the Cranks is a fantastic film. Critics need to remove their heads from their arses. All I’m hearing is "I’m so sophisticated, I’m a critic" The book was great and the movie is different but is still a great Christmas movie. It has a heart, and a story, unlike the critics rage hate against it. "I don’t like it because I can still taste last nights dinner". They are like a bunch of babies laying on their backs, their little arms and legs kicking around while they cry "waa waa waa, me critic, me sad!!". Yes you are sad you stupid ***ks. All I have to say is the following, get a life and find another job. And that’s my rant about critics and Christmas with the Cranks. Also the actors are A plus. They clearly had fun making the movie. The music was cool. The decorations were good. The frozen cat on the front lawn was exactly how I like to see cats.
